Press Preview for Gingerbread NYC 2026

The Museum of the City of New York invites you to the press preview and award ceremony for the fifth annual Gingerbread NYC: The Great Borough Bake-Off. A beloved holiday tradition, the exhibition returns with an all-new celebration of the city’s boundless creativity. Showcasing gingerbread structures crafted by leading bakers and designers from across all five boroughs, the exhibition highlights New York as the creative capital of the United States.

Bakers are invited to create a gingerbread display on the theme of “Iconic New York,” drawing inspiration from distinctive buildings, places, and symbols of the city. A panel of distinguished judges—Bobbie Lloyd, Nadine Orenstein, Amy Scherber, and Melba Wilson—will award multiple themed prizes.

Breakfast will be served.
