9/11: Reclaiming Ground Zero Screening and Talkback

September 11, 2026 marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks. The Museum of the City of New York invites the public to join us for One City United: 9/11 Community Day, a program dedicated to remembering how New Yorkers came together in grief, resilience, and shared humanity to rebuild the city following the attacks. 

The program will feature a range of collaborative programming, including curator talks, a film screening, interactive workshops, hands-on artmaking, wellness sessions, and a space for reflection. 

Note: This program is designed for visitors of all ages. All hands-on art making activities and the Meet the First Responder activities have been designed by the Museum's Family Programs team with children and their grown-ups in mind. The events of 9/11 are devastating. We recommend introducing the concept of 9/11 to your child prior to the program using the linked articles from Psychology Today and NPR.
