Get ready to move, groove, and create together in this high-energy, hands-on family workshop! Step into the rhythmic world of Bhangra — no experience needed, just your best attitude and energy! 

Through a hands-on activity, explore how this traditional folk dance has become a global phenomenon while learning about its history, culture, and communities, then hit the floor to learn the basics of Bhangra dancing in a fun and family-friendly tutorial led by Ajna Dance Company.

Please note: This is a family program — all children must be accompanied by an adult.

About Ajna Dance Company

Ajna Dance Company is a South Asian, woman-founded performing arts organization dedicated to sharing artistic and authentic Indian dance and culture. Founded and led by Artistic Director Minila Shah, Ajna brings together deep cultural knowledge, dynamic choreography, and a passion for community engagement.

Ajna has been featured on ABC’s Good Morning America and has partnered with leading institutions including Lincoln Center and Brooklyn Children’s Museum. Through performances, workshops, and arts education programs, Ajna aims to increase the representation and accessibility of South Asian culture. To date, the company has partnered with over 500 schools and proudly shares dance, culture, and joy with students, cultural institutions such as MCNY, and communities across New York City.
